Use Your Benefits Reminder Text

A mid-year text on June 15 nudging members to use the benefits they're already paying for.

Most members don't know half of what their plan includes. This text goes out mid-year and basically says: your plan probably covers more than you think, want to go through it together? One text a year.

It's one of the pieces of the Retention Journey, so you can run it on its own or alongside the rest.

How people get in

The campaign comes with an automation that adds members on June 15 each year, as long as their policy status is Active, Placed, Pending, Pending Effectuation, or Pending Followup.

The automation is checked once a night. It doesn't go back for dates that already passed, so if you turn it on after June 15, nothing goes out until next year. If you want to send it now, add people yourself.

Reaching the same members again next year

The automation runs every year, but it only adds people who haven't been through this campaign before. Anyone who finished it last year won't be added again on their own. To run them through again, filter your Customers to the people you want, select them, and click Restart (or check Restart the [number] previously enrolled when you add them). See Restarting people.

The text

Day 1: Text

Hey [First name], it's [Agency]. It's easy to lose track of everything your [Carrier] plan includes, and it's worth a look. If you'd like to go through yours together, give us a ring at [Agency phone] whenever.

[Agency phone] is your number. If something's missing for a member, the text fills in a fallback: "there" for the name, "your agent's office" for the agency, "insurance" for the carrier, and "the office" for the phone.

After the text goes out, the journey ends.

Before you turn it on

Its automation is already on

This template's automation switches on the moment you create the campaign, but the campaign starts as a Draft. Anyone it picks up before you activate gets skipped for good. Finish setup and activate before the next date comes up, or switch the automation off until you're ready (Automations tab, click it, turn off Active, Save Changes).

  • SMS registration. Texts don't send until your number is registered (10DLC). See SMS and RCS Registration.
  • Member data. Members need a phone number and a time zone or state.
  • Timing. Texts only go out during your business hours and between 8 AM and 9 PM in the member's time zone.
  • Test it. Send it to yourself first. See Test Your Campaign.
  • Activate. A new campaign starts as a Draft. Nothing goes out until you click Activate on the Overview tab.

Changing any of this

  • The wording: the Pulse tab. Click the text step to edit it. See Pulse.
  • Who gets in and the date: the Automations tab. See Automations Explained.
