Chain Campaigns with Automations
Seven automation recipes that turn individual campaigns into a self-running member journey.
Each recipe below is built the same way: open the target campaign's Automations tab, create an automation, pick the trigger, add filters, and switch it to Active. New automations can be created Inactive and enabled when you are ready.
If you have not read Automations Explained, start there.
The Recipes
Welcome call after every sale
On your Welcome Call campaign: trigger Policy Created. Add a filter if you only want certain business, for example Match ALL of policy type is any of MA, MAPD. Every new policy now starts the journey automatically.
Check-in when the policy goes active
On your Approval Check-In campaign: trigger Policy Status Changed, From Pending to Active. The moment a carrier approves, the check-in schedules itself.
Chain campaign to campaign
On the next campaign in your journey: trigger Campaign Completed with the previous campaign as the source. Use Campaign Failed the same way to route unreachable customers into a rescue campaign instead of losing them.
Turning-65 outreach
Trigger Birthday with At age 65 and an offset before the date (for example 90 days before). Filters can narrow to states you want.
Renewal window
Trigger Date-Based on Renewal Date, offset N days Before. Your review campaign now reaches members ahead of every renewal without a spreadsheet.
AEP prep on a fixed date
Trigger Day of Year with the month and day (for example September 1) to enroll your book into a pre-AEP campaign annually.
Retire stale enrollments
Choose action Remove from campaign(s): trigger Time In Campaign (for example 60 days), scope it to the campaigns it should clean up, and set the final status to Failed. Customers who linger past the useful window exit cleanly instead of clogging your metrics.
Managing Automations
Each automation row shows its Active/Inactive state, a plain-language trigger summary, and its target campaign. From the row menu you can Edit, Duplicate (creates an inactive copy to tweak), Enable/Disable, and Delete. Deleting stops future enrollments only: customers the automation already moved are not affected.
Two rules worth remembering: lead source filters only apply to the Lead Created trigger, and a campaign-membership filter of "not active in this campaign" is the standard guard against enrolling someone twice.
